"GeForce Stereoscopic 3D Driver"

NVIDIA’s Stereoscopic 3D Driver is the program responsible for making 3D image or display viewing possible with computer setups configured for it. It does this when paired with a 3D-ready display, the appropriate processing specs (at least an Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2 CPU, with a minimum of 1GB RAM), the GeForce 3D Vision Glasses, and a compatible GPU from the manufacturer.

The main use of the driver is for stereoscopic gaming, wherein users may view game displays in full 3D instead of as mono (flat) displays on-screen. While some games may demand special patches from their developers in order to be converted into proper 3D, the conversion is automatic for many of them now if you use the driver with NVIDIA’s 3D Vision. Examples of such games would be Battlefield 3, Batman: Arkham City, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Max Payne 3.

Some games also allow the software to provide options for selecting between automated 3D settings and explicit/manual settings. The latter allows users to customize the 3D viewing experience by making advanced selections about stereoscopic aspects such as the depth of the objects on-screen.
